Update on JaKobe 8/7

We've hit a bump in the road. On Monday JaCoby's nurse changed a diaper that looked off to her so she decided to send a sample to the lab to see if there was blood in it. His belly was tender and measuring the same as before but she wanted to be safe not sorry. That night I went in to nurse him and the NNP(Neonatal Nurse Practitioner)said that it was nothing and she thought it had been cancelled. Tuesday morning Dr. Bentley called and said it came back positive for blood but they weren't too concerned because his lab work looked good and the xray looked clear. He told me to start preparing to bring him home. An hour later he called and said that they found something on the xray that looked like neumatosis(sp?) That is an infection in the bowels that can be life threatening. I was terrified. They told me they were moving him to Primary Children's Hospital. Marcus and I arrived at LDS at 11:30 and they had him ready to go. Another Dr. showed us the xray and told us it wasn't as serious but they still didn't feel comfortable keeping him there. He was going to be moved to the new IMC in Murray.
They have been taking xray's of his belly every two hours and last night August 6 the neumatosis was gone. Now we have to wait ten days on bowel rest which means he can't eat anything. It is so hard to see him struggling and crying for something to eat. But at least we know he is clear af the infection. After the ten days they start up feeding again but slowly. We are looking at another two to three weeks in the NICU.
Please keep JaCoby and our other children in your prayers. This has been so difficult on all of us. Thank you so much for everything you've done for us.

Update on JaCoby

JaCoby is doing very well. We're hoping he will be home this weekend. He just needs to master all his feedings on his own. Thanks to everyone and their support and love. We are so grateful to all that participated in the fast and have kept JaCoby and our family in your prayers. Heavenly Father has definetly heard them. JaCoby is our little miracle. When he was born he was in real bad shape. To see where he is in two short weeks is amazing. He is so strong and healthy. Thanks again to everyone. We LOVE you!

Update on JaCoby July 22

These pictures are from my cell phone so they aren't that great. His billi rueben went back up to 15:( So back under the lights we go. He absolutely would have nothing to do with the googles so we had to prop up a burp cloth over his eyes. He is off forced air and is breathing room air at 90 to 100 percent oxygen. Yea JaCoby!
They had to put his IV in his head because he keeps pulling it out! Monkey:) I got to nurse him twice today and he latched right on. Great job buddy!

Update on JaCoby July 21st

On Monday JaCoby's billi rueben dropped to 13, so he was off the lights! Yipee! He was at 2 1/2 liters of forced air and the oxygen they were giving him was between 20 to 30 percent. His feeding went up to 12 cc every 3 hours.
This is his bed. The nurse's that take care of him are wonderful! I love LDS Hospital.
It was so fun to see him awake! He is so sweet. Now I have 4 boyfriends!

Update on JaCoby July 20th

This was JaCoby on Sunday July 20th. He developed jaundice. Which means his liver is overloaded so his skin turned yellow. This is very common in preemies and not very serious if you get the right treatment. The lights help drop their billi rueben. His count was at 15. The lights don't hurt their eyes they just use them so he can sleep because the lights are very bright.
He was very comfortable. He loved the heat from the lights.
I'm afraid that someday he's going to use that toe to pick his nose! Or one of his siblings nose:)
I HATE seeing all these lights and tubes attached to him!

He is SOOO little compared to my 9 lbs 1 oz Kaden!!!

Happy 5th Birthday Isabel or should I say Tinkerbell?

She was so excited for a day dedicated to JUST her!
And of course she got spoiled:)
Happy Birthday Sweetheart! I can't believe you're 5!

Mayhem at Steven and Ditty's

Isabel, friend, Nicole and Kaden waiting for a turn from Uncle Steven on the caterpillar of death! And darling Abby. I love her to pieces!

Zach doesn't like fireworks at Uncle Steven's. See one would think that if you blew a finger off with a firework you would be a little less crazy with them. Not HIM!
And the mayhem begins. I have to say he was a little less crazy this year! We had so much fun. Thanks Steven and Ditty!

Boating on the 4th...Mommy MIA!

So here's my extremely nice family ditching the fat pregnant lady to go boating....RUDE!!!! Just kidding:) I would have felt horrible if they stayed home because of me. The man toasting the camera is the newest member(or will be on the 8th of August)of the Johnson bunch, Jeff Spencer. May God have mercy on his soul!!! Totally kidding! He is marrying my beautiful sister-in-law Krystal! Congrats you two!
There is the fun boat in the background and my cute Father-in-law Mike. Krystal is the one wearing the hat and the one with her back to the camera is Kellie, my Mother-in-law. What the lake does to this family is a phenomenon!
Here's a better picture of cute Krystal.
And last but certainly not least...my sweet baby Hacka(as Isabel would say it)

Swimming...again:)

So here we are again!!! Kaden just had to have a picture of him under the water like Isabel! Those two are fish!

No he doesn't go under the water but he has to be the same as the other two. So googles it is!
